Rain on your Parade isn’t as straightforward as it appears. Simply put, the shenanigans are marvellous, and will make you giggle! Silly dialogue, ironic statements, and making people run around screaming, it’s very immature, but it’s fantastic. No, oil, fire, rockets, thunder, snow and more help you fulfil your evil plan.
As the game progresses, the methods of destruction alter. You are floating around looking cute, but all you want to do is ruin people’s days.
There is something gloriously sinister about this game. The variety kept the game fresh, and you didn’t know what to expect from one stage to the next. There are also moments where you must avoid detection and steer clear of certain characters. The levels then stray away from the task focussed approach and adds in an arcade style high score round. This escalates to more extreme objectives and multi-layered tasks. The gameplay starts out in a simple way soak X amount of people, or destroy a certain object. You never seen a sophisticated cloud before? It isn’t just about annoying people. But the story quickly fades into insignificance as you soon discover that the cardboard cloud is nothing more than an irritating a$*hole. He paints a romantic picture of its antics, and its existence. He is telling the tale of a naughty rain cloud and tells of all the fun it had. It opens with a grandfather talking to his grandson. After all, who doesn’t want to be a rain cloud causing mischief? When I saw Rain on your Parade, I knew it would be right up my street. The Untitled Goose Game and Donut County are both prime examples, and I loved them for it. There have been a string of games recently that ask you to be an obnoxious pest as its sole purpose. The naughty little cloud loves to rain on your parade. Fifty stages of madness await you in this cheeky and comical title. A single-player adventure game that asks you to complete many objectives before you move on to the next level. Rain on your Parade will change your perception towards the clouds forever.ĭeveloped and published by Unbound Creations, this schadenfreude game will have you sniggering from beginning to end. What I don’t associate clouds with is mischief and trouble making. Clouds surround us at all times, they bring rain to quench our thirst and shade when the sun is blazing. There's a lot of game here, and the quality is worth the price.We see them around us every day, from light white wisps, to oppressive dark thunderous entities. If you don't, it's still worth the small $15 price tag. This mode provides new challenges and higher difficulty, but it's still not super tough.Īnd the best part? If you have Game Pass, this game is included. If you're looking for more of a challenge, you can unlock the New Game+ mode after completing the game. But, you can also just make your way through the levels casually and still feel just as fulfilled. If you like to rack up a high score, grab all the achievements, and discover all the secret objectives, there's definitely room to do that. However, as far as replayability goes, your mileage will vary. In just 6-8 hours of playtime, it leaves you satisfied and never bored. Rain on Your Parade doesn't overstay its welcome, either. Seeing what the developers came up with next was a treat, and for animal lovers, there may be a level exclusively for petting a doggo. There are even certain levels that emulate popular franchises and pop culture like Metal Gear Solid, The Night of the Living Dead, and a few others you can discover on your own. This game knows its audience and you can feel that influence everywhere, from the story to the gameplay. It's cheeky, breaks the fourth wall, and you'll find yourself chuckling if you are a fan of video games.
